There’s only two types of people in the world: the ones that entertain, and the ones that observe
Britney Spears, CircusAnd baby I’m a put on a show kind of girl.
I’m a London-based curator, creative producer and writer working across contemporary art and film. My curatorial work includes events, commissioning and exhibitions in both digital and in-person formats. I also work with video and writing, producing non-fiction and artistic content.
I have worked with leading national institutions including the British Film Institute, Barbican Centre and Watershed and have worked internationally including on projects in Berlin and with collaborators from Lagos and Durban.
My work engages with ideas of place, community and queer methods of disrupting. Across the fields I work in, my practice is shaped by an ethics of centring joy and entertainment. I want my work to be meaningful and impactful and I don’t believe that I can achieve that if my practice can’t have a bit of fun. I can’t imagine a utopia using just theory and righteous anger and I wouldn’t want the audiences I’m working for to have to either. So let’s have fun, seriously.
As with many creatives, I am a freelancer, part-timer and also currently in education. I work independently and as part of larger projects within institutions and in a range of roles and disciplines. All this is to say that describing what I’ve done, where and how, is not always easy to present clearly in a single place. More details about the individual projects I have worked on can be found on my curatorial, video and writing pages. Below is a more traditional CV.
