Hi, I'm Siavash! I write, make theatre and from time to time, I take some photographs. I'm also a Liberal Arts student at the University of Bristol.
Across my work, I'm drawn to overlooked spaces: finding something to say about the otherwise unremarkable. I see my work as, in some small way, allowing humbler histories to be told. For every governmental upheaval, every starchitect megastructure, millions of spaces have been erected and demolished without any fanfare: I want to record these otherwise forgotten spaces. The story of their creation and the lives of the people who lived in them.
While my criticism and photography looks at these spaces in their own right, my personal essays and theatre examine the lives of the people who shaped them and were, in turn, shaped by them. The intersection of identity and architecture fascinates me.
